I am a father, business owner, and concerned citizen who believes that the truth is the highest objective moral good to be found anywhere. Rational discourse, honesty, and good faith conversations are where we need to start to improve society.
Not being an asshole to those who don't agree with you on everything isn't "incrementalism".
Also, I argue that the disastrous Citizens United decision that turned elections into bribery campaigns is primarily what got us here.
Now that we are here, we face a greater danger. But OK shout at me.

OK. You self-identify as extremely left of center. Do you realistically think that your faction is going to win national election by itself? or that alienating those slightly less left than you is a smart play? Maybe try civil discourse BEFORE pissing off potential allies. That's how we got Trump.

You are dumber than a box of rocks. I never said anything about supporting anyone. By comparison, looking at a field of athletes who are olympic hopefuls in the decathlon, and noting that one of them is objectively good at pole-vaulting isn't the same thing as rooting for that athlete.

I didn't express any opinions at all. Just made an observation without endorsement that Bashear was the sort of democrat who seemed to have strong appeal in the parts of the country where democrats lose. Dems are too busy fighting among themselves, which is partially why the repugs keep winning.

How were you not talking to me if you quoted me directly? You and Roscoe are opposite sides of the same coin, people like you are the problem IMO. Both of you you go on the attack and instantly alienate anyone who isn't perfectly aligned with you or anyone who disagrees with you whatsoever.

I didn't throw my support behind anyone or endorse him. I made a speculative statement.
Jumping down stranger's throats on the Internet and misrepresenting what people say are not the best way of changing anybody's mind.

I don't know much about him other than he was the only dem to win in a state in the same election Trump won, he vetoed an anti trans bill immediately afterwards, and he has more surface appeal to "middle america" voters.
Bashear had also denounced ICE in us cities.

Mike Johnson is such a snivelling little bitch. I hate his snide grimace. He would be the perfect casting as Grima Wormtongue if they ever remade The Two Towers.

We should go to a popular vote for national elections. It would enfranchise voters of both parties, and candidates would have to appeal to the wellfare of all citizens, rather than focusing on a handful of swing states.

I prefer the pledge of allegiance as it was prior to adding "under God" in 1954 as an outgrowth of the red scare/McCarthyism. Keep religion out of politics.

Nobody has ever presented any evidence of widespread voter fraud. It's just voter suppression cosplaying as a solution in search of a problem.

I love how today's GOP doesn't try to win by putting forth better candidates, winning the idea arguments, or doing their jobs. Their only hope is to rig elections, suppress votes, and game the system.
