Speaking on my project on Indigenous religiosity & digitality at @iashedinburgh.bsky.social (15 Oct). Curious how it lands among those working across the humanities, beyond my usual circles at @cswcedinburgh.bsky.social & @uoedivinity.bsky.social. Hybrid event. Feedback valued!

Emerging from the post-missionary era, for 50yrs APBF facilitated Baptists in the Asia-Pacific to work together & depend on each other. Notably, its mission-evangelism has a strong social/holistic thrust, as seen in the organic, collaborative response to the 2004 earthquake.

Very informative sessions & discussions today. Learned an immense lot, inspired afresh, baffled by complexities, keen to explore newer threads.. but most of all, grateful to listen & participate in the conversation.

Submitting to this upcoming colloquium (4/4), exploring ethical issues on indigenous knowledge in a digital age. Hope to generate a wide-ranging conversation from grassroots perspectives. Indigenous yet global, landed yet online.
Still time to submit & join the discussion!

Family photographs that depict–or sometimes forget/hide–the lived experiences of traumatic events can be powerful critiques against mainstream imageries.

Fascinating insights into the religio-cultural and traditional blend that shaped the Bollywood soundscape... and the increasing tendency to discredit this rich heritage in recent times.
How Bollywood lost its Goan rhythm

Goans changed the soundscape of Indian film music, but their contributions were erased, says ‘Nachom-ia Kumpasar’ director Bardroy Barretto.

A special congratulations to two #WorldChristianity students I supervised, Dr Agana Agana and Dr Rathiulung Elias! #EdinburghGrad

Agana’s PhD looked at #digitaltheology and Ghanaian Christian social media.

Thiu’s PhD explored cosmology and #Christology among the Rongmei (Naga) Baptists.
