Soul in creating is lighting up , surrounding the captain who never wanted anything but the best for them. The curse is broken. Cue tearful happy, cue epilogue.
I believe this is an awesome tv show idea and I am more than willing to hear ideas and critiques.

They tell the story of their curse, they confess their selfish desire to enlist the crew to serve their own means, all the tears. Then quiet. It’s done. The captain is gone. Till it’s not. Everyone’s heart lights up, as does the ship. The ship and crew that the captain put their whole heart and

The whole crew confronts their captain begging for them to tell what’s going on. They recount their deeds and adventures in effort to save the pirate. The pirate is bedridden at this point, and smiles. They look lovingly at the ship, the crew, the home they built. Tears well up in their eyes.

And (failing to) sneakily take care of them.
5 - the curse is getting worse. The pirate is just in pain constantly. The crew runs around trying to find a cure for whatever is going on and unintentionally saving a lot of people on the way. The end of the season comes.

But I’m willing to negotiate. It’s just be cool for them to be the hot mom figure everyone looks up to) mid way through the season, during a tender moment, the curse acts up again. The crew now knows something is wrong, captain still won’t tell them. Cue them holding secret meetings to figure it out

The pirate hasn’t told them. (FYI in my head I see the pirate as a woman in her early fourties’ that gets more silver streaks each season

4 - continue like everything’s normal. Slowly but surely it’s show that the captain has been training them to run the ship themselves. The crew doesn’t suspect a thing, why would they?

Morally grey hero’s, the marines HATE them. Tackle some corruption because they’re supposed to be the bad guys, not the other way around. More tying up loose ends. End season on captain having some form of action to show they’re in pain and have them face the camera as they’re eyes widen in fear

2 - subplots happen, tackles the crew’s trauma (I mean they’ve got to make sure their crew is going to be ok once they’re gone) lean more into helping just a smidge
3- gain a reputation as

5 seasons, one for each year. It goes something like this:
1- Steals a ship, recruits a crew one piece style, pulls a few Robin Hood moves, mostly looting and having fun though
