So.... I cannot. FOR THE LIFE OF ME. get the tree textures to work with any asset I download. So I just put in whatever texture would work, and it looks super cool honestly. It is supposed to be in a dream anyway, so I'm glad it worked out for the better here.

Got the dialogue to fully work with the scroll wheel mechanic to change your response. Its a bit convoluted but, alas, that is what thou'st has. Now to place the NPCs and finish the environment.

I really wanted to make the platform disappear and you fall (like that one Adventure Time clip) which honestly seems so simple but I couldn't do it. Not even a simple teleport one unit in the X direction either. Will work on that eventually.

With the projectile JD Vance Orb bridge complete, I think this game is starting to have its own personality and vibe. It's very dumb but that's just my kind of game. I liked the aesthetic of "pictures that were in already in my computer gallery, so I used them."

The very beginnings of the game was just a kind of platformer.. thing? I had no concepts of a story or plan but adding my little 3D cats helped. I was having issues making the Player move, even though that's such a basic component?

Passage is a walking sim depicting a lifetime. You don’t realize that the more they move towards the right side of the screen the less amount of life they have until they were more towards the middle of the screen. It was blurry in the beginning but clearer in the end… deep.

I Very Much Don’t Want To Be Here is a game about being averse to social spaces? There is no distinction between you and the others except when you stay still, you tweak out. Interesting that you’re the same color still, maybe it’s like anyone can be like this

Snow of organic matter falling on changing city is more of an experience, you watch the procedurally (?) generated cities and this pink snow, as it resets after a couple seconds. I feel like it’s a commentary on the constant, inescapable passage of time but in a relaxing way

Will I ever Be Sure? hits CLOSE to home for me. You move right, swapping from pink to blue, running away from red spikes. The only way you can outrun them is if you never stop going forward. Eventually you find yourself and someone the same as you and it’s wholesome, love it

Again, another game about love/intimacy but Melt is a lot more simple. Right click and left click make the circles touch, but not at the same time, only one works at a time and holding it too long separates them. If you just let the circles be, they just become one.

The Marriage is pretty similar to A Game About Love & Distance. It was also a bit complicated to figure out how to survive, these games have a common theme of being pretty tricky. Ig it’s commenting on the difficult balancing game between the two people in a relationship.

A Game About Love & Distance was very interesting, it reminded me of fire boy and water girl (?) since you use the same keyboard to control different characters. In the game, you need to be apart to progress but being apart for too long ends the game. Poetic, I like it.

I added some ambience and other environmental sound effects. It definitely does a lot since I am lacking in the visuals department. I wanted to make a monitor screen in the code but it didn't work well and I didn't have time... I did do a fade-to-black, though!

Now that I got the idea down (kind of like a sci-fi, waking up as a labrat kinda thing), the game dialogue was easier to do. I decided it would mainly be talking to a monitor, but the dialogue options are already made because custom ones with be a bit advanced for me.

For project 2.2, I had a hard time coming up with an idea to base the game around, so I just built the main foundation and decided I should come up with a title and go from there. I settled on 'Subject B27' and let my imagination go from there.

Arcade dungeon is a game that I clocked as ai (almost) immediately. The plot seemed just so generic and… weird. If ai wasn’t bad for the planet and saddled with a lot of moral/ethical issues, I would be curious to see how it could be used in a game development setting.

Queers in love at the end of the world is a game I don’t think I have the vocabulary to describe but it’s beautiful and poignant. The timed aspect is what makes this game work and I feel a bit more inspired for project 2.

I like A firelit room, it doesn’t tell you anything, your resources grow with each thing you build. It’s pretty mysterious, when the wandering trader appeared and asked for 100-500 fur, when i only had 1
made me feel like the scope of game was way bigger than i thought.

Wolf girls in love was unique. It’s more of a story told in verbs ending in -ing and descriptive adjectives or objects. Typically 4-5 words showing up .5 seconds after the next. I didn’t find myself rooting for the characters much since, but the short excerpt was immersive.

Candy box is super interesting, it seems to be like an rpg simulator where you can go on quests about buy items with candy. I like the asci art, I imagine that the screen grows with locations like the lolipop farm when you progress.

Well this is the best I could get. Lowkey started crashing out a bit at the end, had issues with something about transformations vs game objects? I'm really not an expert though, but it was a nice exercise in coding in Unity.

I'm trying to make the cup-ball sliding game but this may be a bit too ambitious for me right now If I'm being real. I got a script for the game mechanics and the selection for the cups once they stop sliding but that last one doesn't work and I don't think it will by the deadline 😭

Well this coding thing got off to a poor start tbh, I spent too much time figuring out why the code disappeared but it seems like it was an issue with the version of Visual Studio Code version.

I even tried playing around with the preferences but that nearly broke my computer lol

Kind of sad that the texture for my tree assets didn't work... but honestly, given the other-worldly, weird atmosphere to my setting, I think it kind of works.

I am glad that the Hanging Plants from Mr. Andrew Chapman worked seamlessly, I feel like they do a lot of heavy lifting.

Finding a working water texture was a big. pain. After a couple of attempts, assetstore.unity.com/packages/2d/...

this one worked very well :)
I feel like the water adds a lot to my scene too; I really only used 2 textures (including the water) but I feel like it works?
