Yeah, Byleth has expressed both in Houses and Hopes (and Heroes) that she dislikes the dehumanising demon moniker and I wish we could have gotten more on her thoughts and feelings about the isolation & loneliness this brought

In interviews the devs also talked about making Byleth an antagonist because they explicitly wanted to explore "the clashing of beliefs" but Shez gives up their one-sided rivalry pretty quickly and nothing comes out of the whole Sothis vs Arval thing. The whole game is just disappointing to me

It also feels like they wouldn’t even fully commit to it because Byleth can still get an A support rank with every character.

I understand what they intended w/ 3Hopes I just don’t think it’s executed well at all because Byleth is just not rly part of the story or gets any focus. They could've added support conversations w/ the lords to show the (for us awkward) distance between them or something but there is just nothing.

They could have explored this in more depth, how she's alone in her grief over watching her friends die over and over again and the burden of deciding who has and who doesn't have a chance to be saved but this games gives me fucking nothing

Byleth is literally not involved in the main story at all, it’s like she’s only in the game because they wanted their stupid "former MC is now an antagonist!!" marketing twist lmao and then they are not even doing anything w/ it. The whole Sothis vs Arval thing led nowhere, these two never even meet

Giving her less supports than even Jeralt. Recruting her is a requirement for the extra chapter that she’s not even involed in. Not Recruiting her means watching her die in a dog shit cutscene. Barely gets to exchange more than a few words w/ anyone other than Jeralt and Shez
