Time to abandon these Titanic platforms en masse!

COVID had a minimal impact in Japan which has a cultural practice of masking when ill. That and they don’t shake hands, hug or have high numbers of global tourists. Bizarrely, Japanese nationals were allowed to travel outside the country where visa holders were heavily restricted

Sad bit hardly surprising from a cohort that numbers eugenics-obsessed Nazis in their midst

Hopefully your sentiments are true. I cringe to consider how things could get worse for the world

He has come to see the ultimate fallacy of infinite growth as a core paradigm of economics

I recall having a heated argument with a good friend almost 50 years ago on the insanity of aligning our activities with an economic paradigm that assumed extraction of infinite resources. I was a student of biology and he was a student of economics. Our worldviews have aligned over the years.

Dear Mrs. Betty B: I am so thankful that I found my way to you here on BlueSky. Your dry, pointed and acerbic wit hit hard at the malignant heart of the regime. You bring a note of levity to a very serious piece of business. Keep your foot on the gas in 2026!

Sorry to say but you are living in a knock-off version, but more like in the 30s.

It first I actually thought that the regularly scheduled program Survivor was interrupted by an SNL skit. How can America “survive” this? It was utterly bizarre on a whole other level. I am genuinely concerned about the Presidentes health.

I hope that included building our own jets eventually.

I think that over exposure train left the station with Star Wars

Having used the TGV in France and the Shinkansen in Japan it made our current rail network seem so utterly impoverished and ineffectual. This could be a real boon for travel and the environment

The downtown corridor is already maxed out for right of ways unless they could retrofit GO trains and lines but they are key for GTA outlier commutes
December 15, 2025 at 11:56 PM
Hopefully the pace of progress will match the speed of the Shinkansen!

Scientific American published research on gun fatalities, in 1978 or ‘79 where they affirmed the most obvious common sense hypothesis that the presence of guns dramatically increases the probability of gun fatalities. So obvious that science NOR suffering factor into political calculus.

Why is anyone even popping in to that rage cage anymore?
December 14, 2025 at 2:28 AM
So true. Just getting used to my new EV in that and many other respects. A deer took out our 13 year old Subaru and getting into a new vehicle was like a Quest for Fire moment!
