Trader 📊📈📉
(1) stoped out prematurely due to tight stoplosses and (2) I would miss the trade completely because the risk was above 3%. But now, I am able to take any trade while maintaining my desired risk/reward. #PLTR #swingtrading #stockmarket #stocks #investing #riskmanagement

Answer: Divide the dollar amount of risk ($500) by the amount of percentage risk (10.29%).

500/.1029=4859

Your position size when entering the trade should be $4859

This has helped me tremendously. I had always used a fixed percentage risk number of 3%. This caused a few problems:

For example, $PLTR’s ORB (opening range breakout) is sitting at $87.28. The next level of support is around $78.25. So in this case, that’s a 10.29% difference between entry ($87.28) and risk ($78.25). How do I enter this trade while (1) giving it room to respect support and (2) maintain $500 risk?

How do you maintain a $500 max loss on any given position, while reducing your chance of being stopped out prematurely? Answer = take the dollar of of your max loss ($500) and divide it by the amount of risk that is presented in each trade.
