Right: This photomicrogrph, taken at Halo Shelter, shows the yellow over red over black paint layers. The black was applied firs,t then the red, then the yellow. The key to determining the order of paint layers is to examine the edges of each layer at the points of intersection with another layer.

a quick search of christies yields 6 pages of ostensibly different variations of tiffany dragonfly lamps. this small boudoir lamp has a bronze and mosaic draongfly base with bronze armature and dragonfly leaded shade this jawdropping example has a bronze and mosaic base with an inclusive central light radiating through turtle-back panels and further holding a dragonfly leaded shade this example pretends to be sleek and understated, the elegant wrythen base is bronze and mosaic dragonflies swirling down in opposition to the leaded glass dragonfly lamp - the variants are shockingly divergent another plain jane dragonfly lamp. the deeply patina'd wrythen base is boldly asymmetrical and organic, spiraling upwards to greet the dragonfly leaded shade with jeweled medallions
