A rainbow of wool batt stripes. The base is white Romney lamb fleece, with dyed Merino and mulberry silk blended into it to make semi-solid colors. Each baby Batt is bundled into a nest, into a 2*4 grid.

Making yarn!

I'm trying to decide if I should spin another bobbin of black Corriedale to ply with the three existing bobbins.

It's working up on US 4 needles and the stitches are leetle.

But will that muddy the colors too much??

Three bobbins of spun yarn. Two of the bobbins are filled with dyed green Corriedale and the third is naturally colored black Corriedale. Howdy the dog stands behind them, his tail a blur from wagging. A spun sample from the three bobbins, comprised of two plies of green and one ply of black singles. It is swirled up in the palm of my hand. A knit sample of the previously spun yarn. Using size 4 needles and a basic stockinette pattern, I love the fabric, but feel that I might regret the small yarn diameter in the future...

I love watching layers of yarn fill a bobbin! This is some commercially blended 80%/20% Merino/silk and it is SLIPPERY!

I loved using my treadle wheel on the screen porch. Can't wait for it to be over 50°F so I can make it longer than an hour outside 😆

Pretty batt! I'm calling this one "Faewild"

It's Cormo fleece and sari silk noil. Now on Etsy!

I washed and picked the locks and then carded them up on my drum carder. Three passes in total to really incorporate the sari silk noil.

Did some more carded fleece samples for @rachelisknitting.bsky.social

I took some previously washed fleeces, picked an ounce of locks, and carded them three times each, adding a little sari silk noil after the first pass on the carder.

Really happy with this product! 😍

A batt of spinning fiber sits on a table. Batts are carded sheets of fiber, blended for color or texture or both. This is comprised of merino wool, sari silk noil, and tussah silk. The shades of purple, blue, pink, and black are blended and layered by me on my drumcarder, which creates a complex and gorgeous spinning fiber preparation! On the floor lays a box, filled with rolled tubes of spinning fiber, called rolags. There are two colorways all lined up in the box. The first contains shades of purple, brown, and green merino, with black tussah silk, and green sari silk noil, which creates tweedy speckles in the fiber. The second is red, purple, and brown merino, with black tussah silk, and gold sari silk noil. These are some sample colorways for the upcoming Fiber Witch Festival in Salem, MA in April, based on the goddess Persephone. A sweater in progress is laid out on the ground. It is a solid bright red color, and only the upper back and left shoulder are done. The right shoulder stitches have been picked up and are on the needles. A cone of yarn sits next to the sweater, which is a 100% wool yarn by Jagger Spun.

It's been rough this week. Struggles galore. But this guy is sweet and cuddly and good.

I'm just trying to take things a minute at a time, and being under a pup helps.

WIP Update!

The Love Note Sweater by TinCanKnits is looking good! Still need to finish the neckline, and obviously the body and sleeves, but I wanted to make sure it was fitting well.

It's a little big in the back, but that's to be expected! Overall, I like the look!
