I don't know why, of all Prehistoric animals, this particular therapsid enchants me so much, But I love this thing. By far my favorite "Extinct Animal as a Monster" in media.
The Scene where it fights a predator from the future is pure cinema

But in actuality this is apparently just my archetype with casting directors and on one hand I want to play different roles, but on the other I kinda like it? Like, it's a very safe space to operate in.

Additionally, they use a lot of vertical space in an exhibit, giving habitat designers more space to play with.

The Peacock is likely the most iconic, but the Mute Swan, Armadillo, and almost every species in the Twilight pack fill spots in the roster.
A "Texture" species, by my definition, is a taxa that adds dimension to the "setting" of the zoo and the habitats in it.

I can talk about non mammalian taxa, especially birds, that feel somewhat lacking, but Planet Zoo does still have some mammal gaps (in my opinion). As I've talked about my desire for ducks and aquatic turtles, variety in species add texture! so let's talk "Texture"

and Narwhaler, an EXCELLENT member of the PZ modding community has made a good one, though the limits of modding restrict the "transformation" of the male turkey display which makes it a great candidate for an official DLC!

I LOVE Galliformes, and the game currently has the Peafowl and Chicken, both are good, but I want more!
Personally, one I was hoping we'd get in the Barnyard Pack is the Wild Turkey.
A truly excellent North American species
