R/Fantasy book sale.
600 books.
For every 50 books downloaded, $1 gets donated to the Mary Cariola Children's Center. www.reddit.com/r/Fantasy/

Tons of new and indie authors on there, so I'm going to ask: Any recommendations from that list?

These two are my favourite sharps, both Gus Trims. The bottom one is Bi-frost, which was the official sword of our LGBTQIA+ martial arts school (thus the rainbow finish on the blade).

The other I don't currently have a pic of, but it's a rapier with a custom hilt made by an armourer friend.

Mountain village life in the winter. The village herd comes in to check on us once in a while.

Afternoon writing out on the deck, watching a thunderstorm roll on by.

Mountain village rocks the evenings.

Beautiful up here.

About a third of the way through Vandermeer's "Wonderbook."

I absolutely hate it.

One of the best books on writing I've come across yet.

Already ordered my own copy.

I'm really liking the improvements ProWritingAid is making to their software. The new AI capabilities are actually useful.

Still some bugs though, it appears.

I think we made the right choice opting for mountain village life.

Christmas presents from my grandfather were always home-roasted almonds. I took up the torch just before he passed. This year I try something new. Marcona almonds on the left, regular on the right. Fried on a pan in butter, and salted.

So, so good.

Neighbour on alert this morning. Probably watching the first few snowflakes fall, just like me.

Catching up to @scalzi.com in Amazon's "humorous scifi" listings. Only 3 away! That's good enough for the day. I can go back to bed now. That's my win for the day done.

Windows are dirty, but this is what I see out the window from the new desk.

Work from home setup at the old place and the new setup. Old place had garden view and then neighbour's, new place has tiny window, but epic mountain view. I'll take it!

New writers loft in progress compared to my first attempt at a home office in the old home.

Murder room vibes versus cost. We'll see which is more productive.

Never saw this sort of spider in the lower mainland. North-central BC. Cat-faced spiders?

Local mountains are in drama mode today.
Suits the village. Much drama. When I moved up here I joked with a local about setting a murder mystery here. She started to rattle off a list of recent murders.

And then the squirrel decided to escalate to screaming. For about fuve minutes.

Poor kitty just wanted a nap, but eventually gave up and moved to the front yard.

Poor orangie.

Loud skitter crash on roof.
Uh oh. Squirrel.

Commence frozen battle of wills.
