The show is literally about redemption and second chances.
You'd think the audience that watches it and supposedly likes it enough to join the fandom would have clocked in on that at some point.

He can't even pay attention to a conversation anymore or remember basic things like names. Though this appears as goofy/ a running gag, it's in actuality rather tragic.

His only role now is to suffer for what he's done, preferably out of sight so his siblings can pretend he doesn't exist.
It's hinted that at some point, he made an effort to at least make Hell less horrible, that he tried to care for the souls that ended up there.
