Gegnpressing has a chat, but I’ve left it recently bc there’s a lot more policing of what you post & people are mean to me, which I don’t need

There are a few podcasts that go over everything. The one with the most expertise is Gegenpressing bc the hosts work for Transfermarkt, but they cost about $6 a month, @bavarianfbworks.bsky.social has a great rundown w/ more on Patreon, and the Bundesliga show with Rory even does fantasy stuff

Now I don’t have time to keep up with everything going on, nor do I care to. I have three kids with all kinds of activities, I’m trying to get more into my music and venues where I can sing and play, my spouse in healthcare with a difficult job, and America is awful right now so not a lot of time.

I’ve since then learned a lot of my Uni and local friends don’t care much about football, though one friend said that his kids and friends would root for Dortmund or Hannover before Bayern. Never Bayern. But I had more fun in Munich than Hannover & the mining towns so stuck with Bayern.

Eventually my brother got into Liverpool, we started playing FIFA together when it was free on the PS store, and I wanted a German team with storied tradition like Liverpool and whose stats were good, and who I knew about as an American, so I gravitated to Bayern.

We had so many good friends we met in both student housing and in town that we still talk to, who said our kids could stay with them any time if they want to do an exchange year or even go to school there for Uni. I applied for a post doc I didn’t get, but we tried to stay

Eventually there’s some split up of the country after a bloody civil war. I look at my children & wonder is now the time that we should get out or they’ll be drafted or colatteral. Seems like crazy talk to some, but we are in oligarchy always testing us to see what they can get away with.
