I'm sure some people will read this thread and think, "No duh. These people don't actually believe what they're saying."

However, that's only half true. Most people who believe that diversity = bad writing are just naive teenagers that can't see the obvious contradictions in their beliefs.

So, when people say, "Stop being racist" or "Stop being 'X'-phobic", they're referring to you blaming diversity as a whole, not for you complaining that bad writing exists. There's a high chance that you both agree on the same premise, but you've simply come to completely differing conclusions.

Additionally, you are *not* a gigabrain for noticing that "stories written poorly are written poorly". Shockingly, the vast majority of left leaning people ALSO hate the same examples of "representation" that you hate. The only difference is that we blame the writing itself, rather than diversity.

And YES, I'm aware that some suits might decide to push diversity into a story, but that doesn't mean that ALL inclusions of diverse characters are inherently done for that. In actuality, it's far more likely for the inverse to happen, and for suits to go out of their way to censor diversity.

Correlation doesn't equal causation. While many writers/suits may/may not strive to increase diversity for the sake of brownie points, that is NOT what leads to poor writing. Rather, poor writing is often the result of forcing writers to pump out large quantities of dialogue in short time periods.

Older Nintendo games gave you rewards too, yes, but they were less common and you had to work for them. Compare a full maxed out inventory in Twilight Princess to a maxed out inventory in Breath of the Wild, and you'll see just the sheer quantity of boring forgettable junk in the open world games.

As an aside, this is also how Nintendo designs the new 3D Zelda games. These are all titles to give you constant small rewards despite having put no effort into everything you do, because everything's meant to be easy and simplistic enough that it all becomes reflexive "Oooh, shiny shiny yum!!"

Additionally, while I haven't personally played it (I don't have a Switch 2), from my understanding, DK Bananza has all of Odyssey's worst traits. It too is a game designed to turn you into a mindless dopamine whore who's obsessively trying to collect every shiny object despite their repetitiveness.

As for 2D, Super Mario Wonder was pretty good, although it also had it's fair share of detractors. Personally, I didn't really mind the easier difficulty overall because...it's Mario. That's just expected at this point, which itself is an issue. At least, the special 100% levels were challenging.

Meanwhile, the most recent 3D Mario is Super Mario Odyssey (which...god. It's been nearly 9 years...)

Odyssey was trash. It had incredible movement, but the gameplay was 100% filler moons and that's about it. It's designed to appeal to a mindless dopamine "number go up" mobile game mentality.

The last truly good 3D Mario was Super Mario Galaxy 2, and this isn't nostalgia talking (trust me, as a kid I couldn't even beat the second level). Galaxy 1 had pretty solid gameplay, but it was WAY too padded out and the level gimmicks felt weak, while Galaxy 2 had much better level design overall.

The Movies Ranked (from best to worst):

Sonic 3 (the only one that's pretty solid)
Sonic 1 (Has it charms, even if it's not great)
Super Mario Bros Live Action (So bad it's good.)
Sonic 2 (So bad it's bad)
The Super Mario Bros Movie (Soulless advertising)

Also, when I say feminists, I mean real feminists. Terfs can go fuck themselves. Trans rights ARE women's rights. Anyone who tries to say otherwise is a bullshit artist trying to hook you on a hate addiction. These fuckwits are just taking it too far in the OTHER direction, because nuance is dead.

Personally, I had a lot of internalized misogyny ingrained in me over the course of my childhood, and it took years to overcome it all. I would not have been able to do that without listening to feminist content creators and taking it all to heart. Internalized misogyny is very, very much real.

I understand that openly living and passing as a woman can be very difficult/impossible for a lot of trans women. But, if your only experience with womanhood is having a new social media name, then you should be quiet & listen to the feminists who actually have full life experiences to draw from.

That's not to say your viewpoint is permanent, tho. You CAN change that viewpoint, which is a big reason why trans women who have been out publicly for years tend to have a less sexist outlook overall. Identifying as a woman isn't enough. You have to also *live* as one in order to fully understand.
November 22, 2025 at 10:52 AM
Being raised to view the world through a man's eyes means having a privileged view of it, and it's not transphobic to point that out. Realizing you're transgender and changing your name/pronouns on your socials is not enough to completely unwire your heavily biased viewpoint on the world.

Internalized misogyny affects cis women as well, but online, in my experience, it's way more likely that it's a trans woman responsible for it than anything. Largely, I think that's to do with the fact that, most trans women were raised to be/still live as men. It's just a fact, like it or not.

(btw, I only did the greentext style formatting for funsies. I neither use, nor condone that awful website)

I hate how much online trans culture revolves around saying, "Oh, you identify as a woman now? Great! You have nothing more to process then! No internalized misogyny to be found! Have fun! 🥰"

There's historical evidence that Jesus was a real person. That doesn't mean he's a son of God, but he was mostly likely real, to some extent. Myths surrounding him were likely highly exaggerated, though.
