Streets are spotless after a festival? There is a festival around the streets near where I work and afterwards it reeks for a week or so

I’ve seen the tipping jars in a few places even in the country areas. I hope it doesn’t catch on. Of course I tipped but I found it awkward and annoying doing it on my trips to the U.S. How about no more articles about it so it doesn’t become a talking point here 🤫

It’s great living in the inaka. Woke up this morning, decided to go snowboarding and was at the slopes not much more than an hour later. Great snow

If you love mountains and nature in general come here for a visit. On a clear winter day the views are amazing. They rival Fuji in my slightly biased opinion. The view can be even better early in the morning just before the sun rises and the mountains are silhouetted

Going to the expo is not high on my list of things to do this year

Toyama is a fantastic place. I might be biased but the views of the mountains on a clear winters day are better than Mt fuji. Hope not too many tourists come though 😅

At the supermarket I went to last night half a cabbage was 300 and a full one 600 (Japan doesn’t really do the whole discount if you buy more thing). Seem to be kicking themselves with these prices. No one was buying them and were going for alternatives including pre cut cabbage

Ah the rising wasabi. Always good for a laugh. Whatever happened to it?

Near where I live in Japan there is a small subway inside another store and has been around for ages. It’s away from lots of foot traffic and I’m surprised it’s still in business. And just this month another one opened up in a big shopping centre only a few kms away
