Every year we do the 'what do you want for Christmas' dance and we all give stupid shit that no one needs.
This year I've told the kids we will get things such as underwear, toiletries, food etc and we will gather them up and donate them to a local organisation that helps the unhoused.

My dog has advanced heart failure and it was quite warm today. She loves to lay in the sun but obviously overheated.
I observed her stumbling and then she collapsed. I carried her into the shade & gave her water and she was fine again.
It reminded me how little time she has left 😢
