One of my favorite Transit Month activities is when the heads of the Bay Area’s transit agencies (including @samtrans.com and @caltrain.com) do a ride-along together and riders can ask them questions face to face.
This year’s ferry to train to bus excursion was through the North Bay.

The views from SamTrans bus routes 294 and 117 are outstanding. It’s Bay Area Transit Month — good excuse to ride them and see for yourself.

Love transit? Want it to get better? There are ways to make it work: Check out this conversation with AC Transit, @samtrans.com and @caltrain.com

Happy Pride Weekend! Here’s the lighting of the world’s only laser Pride flag — which travels the length of Market Street in San Francisco!

Took a YARTS bus into Yosemite National Park today, and it was so easy!!
— Didn’t have reservations, not a problem.
— No driving or parking hassles.
— Took a nap on the ride back.
I’ll never drive into Yosemite Valley again.

It may not be as sprawling as LA or as towering as NYC, but San Francisco holds its own. It’s not just a postcard or a tech hub — it’s a living, layered city with soul. That’s world-class (6/6)

From world-changing tech to street activism, SF shapes culture far beyond its borders. Hippies, punks, poets, coders, queers, and visionaries have always made this city a lab for the future (5/6)

The food scene? Unmatched. Michelin stars, sure — but also Burmese tea leaf salad, Salvadoran pupusas, vegan soul food, dim sum in a mahjong hall, or a fresh-baked croissant from a Mission back alley window (4/6)

It’s easy to forget: SF is a global city. People come here from everywhere — and stay. You hear Mandarin, Tagalog, Spanish, Farsi, Russian, Vietnamese, Korean… all on the same Muni ride (3/6)

SF packs more culture, innovation & beauty per square mile than almost anywhere on Earth. It’s one of the densest, most walkable cities in the U.S. Every block has its magic — murals, galleries, bakeries, taquerías, temples, dive bars, rooftop lounges. It’s 7x7 miles of world-class energy (2/6)

I recently overheard a person saying San Francisco is so “small.” It’s not the first time I’ve heard this take—but this time it got me contemplating the whole city-size perspective. Does it matter if a city has 8 mil or 800k? What truly makes a great city? (1/6)

Me encanta la Misión en San Francisco! Today is Carnaval — such a positive vibe here.

Nice turn out today in the Castro for what would have been Harvey Milk’s 95th birthday. Thank you to Mayor Daniel Lurie and Senator @scottwiener.bsky.social for speaking.

Anti-DEI fallout:
Corp America is dropping Pride sponsorships this year — with a majority blaming Washington.
Anheuser-Busch, Diageo & Comcast are pulling out of San Francisco's event, a loss of $300k.
Diageo & AB are BIG — so I'm assisting with brand sheets.
Drink wisely.

Good morning San Francisco from the top of Bernal Peak.

If I was driving, I could not fully take in these views! Currently on Golden Gate Transit to the North Bay for a reunion with former Marin Brewing Company coworkers.
Note: Ross, the bus driver, is a great transit / Bay Area ambassador: kind, helpful, happy — so good with tourists.

Bikes on a boat — this is how to explore the San Francisco Bay Area

I’ve never seen a cruise ship in this part of San Francisco Bay where the cargo ships typically line up. I think they got lost

Pro tip: The ferry systems serving San Francisco provide stunning views of the Bay Area. Great way to explore at bargain prices.
