I read 57 books in the first half of 2025; here are my 5 (ok, I cheated — 6) favorites. #booksky
My Top 5(ish) of 2025 (so far)
If 2024 was the year I plunged back into reading, 2025 is the year love turned to obsession.

And that’s a wrap on summer! Check out my August “Shelved” to see what I loved — and didn’t. #booksky #writingcommunity

I’m an Ironman athlete, but let me tell you: Querying is by far the toughest endurance event in the world.

Bought these fun “Reader Roulette” cards from Pippi Post and decided to let a random draw pick my next book from the never ending TBR pile on my bookshelf. Sunburn it is! 📚 #booksky

These three are humbly asking someone to publish my books so I can stay home with them all day to feed them treats, instead of schlepping into an office.

An abridged “Shelved” for July! Loved Hamnet, Circe and The Wedding People, DNFed my first book of 2025, and tackled The Sisters. Another great month of reading in the books — pun intended. 😉

Feeling sad that AJLT is dead is akin to that wistful time during the last week of high school, when everyone attended parties and had fun together, and for 5 minutes you forgot how miserable the experience was.

Grabbed a first edition of one of my favorites for $2 at my local library. ❤️

There are a lot of things to hate about this timeline, but I absolutely love that we’re in an era where blonde bombshells who the world trashed and wrote off as bimbos — like #JayneMansfield and #PamelaAnderson — are finally getting their due. 💪

Not really one for celebrating my birthday, but I do love to use it as an excuse for a book store shopping spree.

It’s finally happened, guys … I’ve found my first DNF of the year.

(For those curious, it’s the latest mystery by a bestselling British writer. I made it 65 pages and called it quits around the time a MC described middle aged women in yoga pants looking at his “package.” 🙄) #booksky

Hey, #writingcommunity and #booksky — curious to learn more about your path to publishing. How long/many agents did you query and how many fulls did you send before landing your agent? How long were you on sub before signing with a publisher?

Tell me everything: The good, bad and ugly!
July 23, 2025 at 3:14 PM
Have you ever repeated your name over and over, to the point it sounds weird, distorted, and foreign?

That’s what it’s like to continuously reread your own manuscript when it’s on sub.

Just overheard a teenager in Starbucks say “life goes pretty fast.”

Girl, you have no idea.

“Everything feels commercialized, bureaucratized and less freewheeling today.”

Can’t say I disagree. But I’d argue that book-to-screen adaptations are a significant culprit. To make a living as a writer in the 21st century, your work be multimedia friendly — and that requires homogeneity. #booksky

Finally! 🥰 Took months to get off the library’s waiting list for this one, but — only 30 pages in — I can tell it was worth the wait. ❤️
