I don't think they actually paid her for any of the films; at least I have never heard that they did (though I would be delighted to learn that they did). They didn't even acknowledge her until the TV show.

They seem to think it newsworthy that people who use AI a lot think it's useful and/or good. I think they're trying to imply that the approval is the result of the use, and not the other way around.

Unless of course I missed something, which is certainly possible.

In my "reviews" of Lovecraft's ouevre I argued that Lovecraft's protagonists don't go insane, they go *sane*. They see reality as it really is, and are no better for it. Which is close to the same thing.
