Can I get this without a subscription?

I'm sure it does but in alot of other games turning it off does give a significant performance increase. So I assume this is why they're upset that it's always on

I feel like this is coming from a genuine place of when I turn this feature off in other games it runs better so it would be nice to have the option. If there are underlying reasons why it can't be done they simply aren't aware of it
