Fromsoft still does! The longest gap between releases since Demons Souls has been three years!

Ah, sorry I thought it might have been Zexion, which as far as I know doesn’t have any softlocks but does go whole hog on the nonlinearity to the point it might feel like it has some.

Which game is this? I might be able to help

He’s like a weird nemesis. When moviebob brings up Snyder things, he’s there. When moviebob brings up things that barely have to do with Snyder, he’s there.

Wait the Snyderbro Durge stalks you too? I thought he was exclusive to Moviebob

That's fair. I didn't have any intention of piling on that reviewer specifically, just curious about what the game was so I could see what other people were saying.

Which game?
December 19, 2025 at 3:35 PM
Doesn't this mean a bunch of fascists will get beaten by trees at the end though?
December 19, 2025 at 11:57 AM
No, because when Umbrella causes cancer it's not a mistake.

I don’t know if it’s better or worse that the guy the article is about isn’t saying this himself, but is just a cynical money guy that is blandly saying “yes” when asked about the presence of sexy women in skimpy clothes.

I just remember the funniest result of this was Alex Hirsch posting a fake screenshot of an upcoming Gravity Falls episode to screw with theorists.

I’m curious who started the trend of plot twists needing to outsmart the audience. Westworld did it the wors, but I feel like it was an established line of thought before that.
December 13, 2025 at 5:50 PM
Which archetype would that be exactly?
December 12, 2025 at 11:58 AM
I have found its a regular thing with Fromsoft games that characters/groups with names that sound figurative are actually more literal than you could have possibly imagined.

I have seen this said about Silksong as well.

Apparently the key to maximum emotional resonance in gaming is extremely demanding platforming.

Is it weird that I think his boss theme does a good job characterizing him? Like that is the music for a guy with a Dr. Doom style denial of his own failings and projecting it on everyone else (but also that's the kind of info that shouldn't be locked behind a 100% completion unlock)

Not that they're the same fanbase, but are any of these people ever complaining about COD games shipping with single-player campaigns that are, minus cutscenes, shorter than John Wick 4.
December 6, 2025 at 11:23 PM
"An OOT-style Zelda that ended up in a metroid box by mistake" actually made me more interested in the game. Having the first Metroid Prime remastered for Switch both helps and hurts in that regard (hurts: shows where MP4 came up short, helps: gave fans what they wanted while MP4 does its own thing)
December 6, 2025 at 11:21 PM
There's the indie game Zexion if you want 2D metroid with some 8-bit Mega Man dna mixed in as well. If you're referring to the Prime series, I can't think of any games that are replicating it outright as opposed to just having some of the vibes.

Never mind I found him.
December 6, 2025 at 6:29 PM
Should I know who this guy is?
December 6, 2025 at 6:26 PM
Huh, I didn’t think people were being *that* salty about Metroid Prime 4
December 6, 2025 at 6:23 PM
Oh I’m aware of that too, especially the weird reframing of Section 31 as a legit organization and not, at best, Starfleet’s dirty secret and at worst a rogue faction with only slightly better morals than usual.
December 5, 2025 at 5:14 PM
To be fair, Star Trek has always had a weird relationship with Starfleet’s status as a military organization that insists it isn’t one.
