He's sticking to the script he was given by the Kremlin. Domestic issues are irrelevant when your objective as undercover KGB is to weaken America's diplomatic power around the globe, beginning with our own trusted allies. All of this goes back to Russia and Putin.

It may just be a distraction, but it's not without serious consequences. It has made it very clear to the rest of the world that the USA is no longer an ally that can be relied on or trusted. This is not a small thing.
