Crazy how feature dev slows down when you're not staffed to meet basic operational needs

I'm more about "potato shaped people", we've all got a few skills we're deepest in, we tend to be somewhat round in between the peaks, and despite often being able to work together easily, every single one is unique.

Depends. Mostly they're asking a simpler question than that. I've seen: nothing, hindering future performance, reduced willingness to try again, driving the recipient to achieve at a DIFFERENT task. I could speculate on the others.

Nothing desperately trying to convince itself that it's real.

I've been thinking about this a ton. If you're a fairly flat or small organization it might not actually matter much, but in a large org, funding by project seems to create a culture of "the goal is to follow the plan" instead of "create disposable plans for the purpose of achieving goals."
