This is I think why they want to push genAI so hard—it's a Syndrome "when everybody's super, no one will be" philosophy. They covet the admiration of knowledge and talent but don't want to do the hard work of developing it. They can make money rich but they can never make themselves exceptional.

The way I figure it, there is a deeply rooted jealousy of real knowledge and expertise among wealthy capitalists. They see the respect and acclaim commanded by people who are great artists, scientists, etc. and they want it for themselves... or to at the very least pull those people down.
