When the first emergency alert went off around 5:45 AM and woke us up I thought it might be for something more nefarious than severe weather. We received a second alert 20 minutes later.

Jim Flowers drops the gloves with his Facebook weather forecast last night, and then his prediction of where the heaviest rain would be does not come to pass. Weather forecasting is hard work, and the current state of affairs with funding doesn't help, but not a good look here.

A lot of 100-year floods happening lately in "Flash Flood Alley". From afar, listening to various government officials trying to pass the buck or explain their lack of preparedness is maddening. May these communities, especially those grieving right now, get the support and care they need.
