Poverty in India is not the fault of the BCCI—if anything they've built new cricket networks & training facilities. BCCI have managed the IPL quite sensibly & found ways to give poorer kids a lot of opportunity. I think they're doing a good job—a number of the Indian players are from poor families.

*I'm not a big fan of the money thrown around in the IPL but it gives a lot of young players the means to a livelihood & an opportunity to be seen. The BCCI has put in rules that stops young players from only playing IPL—which is a good thing—as is their growing focus on grass roots cricket.

My main bugbear is that 1. people comment on the BCCI without understanding the complexities of India 2. so much of the commentary is based on non-reflexive racist/orientalist tropes & 3. the mob of international ex-players who go where the money is but give little back to Indian cricket themselves.

Yeah. He did that post match presentation with such ease. Answered all the questions with great composure.

Yeah, Paul. This has been some intense stuff from Indian players. Captain leading from the front. There is a long way to go for Shubman as captain but he is having a ball right now.

I reckon, the runs scored in the 2nd innings boosted his morale.
How are you doing?

I never had a separate room in childhood. But we had a poster in our living room of a running horse with a quote written on it, which says : " each must find his own road".
