Birder, butterflies, moths.
Somerset : mostly local (TA4 VC5) and Steart and the Quantocks. More images : flickr.com and my WordPress blog: (simonvyvyandavies/thenovicebirder)
Enjoying a bit of vicarious "mine-ing" : nice photos. Away for a bit and leaves cascading off already so may tackle seriously next autumn.

Leaf mine training : now there's an excellent idea! Hard to find in SW England unless I'm missing something. #teammoth

Landmark moth, you've got to have one if those Clare : looking across latest #teammoth posts, U. ferrugalis the biggest beneficiary(?) of the southerly blast : lots from S. Cornwall to Essex and beyond.

Certainly looked capable of munching moths. Apparently they snack on each other, especially females on males.😱

LBAM gallery from a slightly subdued #teammoth this morning. Hey ho, cuppa now in hand, few more trays to scrutinise, hope springs eternal.

Lightweight here I'll admit but tomorrow's forecast bodes well (better and better in fact) and traps will be out.

Great pic of the Dec moth , and somehow reminiscent of portraits of Mary Queen of Scots..

Loving the gif image of the dissolute moth-er, personal hygiene gone to the winds and muttering incantations to inanimate objects..

Looks v smart: does yr spreadsheet have macros in it to save looking up scientific name and ABH no? My ruse is to input into Devon moths lookup table kindly provided free for interlopers from across the border, then paste into the sheet I submit to Somerset CMR. Needless to say I haven't started..

Just deserts for intrepid moth-ing!
