Why are we focusing on the 2nd strike? Please give me justification for the first strike. And don’t forget the survivors we took into custody and released without charges a few weeks ago.

We can’t turn the ship around if we don’t get control of the helm and we can’t get control of the helm by trying to teach people who have the attention spans of toddlers lengthy lessons about economics.

We had to flip R districts which meant running candidates who could win there. Our majority was (and if we get it back likely will be) razor thin. I do not care how popular a Rep is or how sharp their rhetoric, they can’t be an effective Speaker while catering to a D+20 district.

It’s an incredibly hard & thankless job - especially on the Democratic side of the aisle. The House is so gerrymandered in favor of Republicans that R’s held it for 8 years before D’s took it back in ‘18. When we did take it back we had to win by +9 to get less seats than R’s had in their majority.

The Speaker is a cat herder. They have to some how get over 200 people who represent millions of other people who span the entire political spectrum, who have different, sometimes competing, interests to agree on and vote for policy.

You’re welcome to make that your hill to die on, but it still has nothing to do with this conversation or the qualifications needed to be Speaker of the House.

Setting aside the fact that you don’t vote for Speaker, what in the hell does the origination of currency have to do with the that position? Do you understand what the Speaker does?

I am a huge fan of Jasmine Crockett, but she has not served in Congress anywhere near long enough to be Speaker. Not to mention that many of her fans would end up hating her if she did get the job.

Why would she be a great replacement? Do you even know what the Speaker does?
