3 months later talk talk insists I’m still in a contract with them despite me sending copies of the letter by email which they apparently did not receive 4 or 5 times. They wanted the original so they could lose that. I did get rid of them eventually though and have been with by ever since

That sounds like the talk talk I hate. I was with tiscalli. Which talk talk took over. I transferred to Bt who sorted everything out just before tiscalli was sold to talk talk. Tiscalli even sent me a letter confirming my contract was cancelled.
