An end, you ask? When I am finished!
Claude Code has started doing this the last few weeks.
One off scripts to search and replace text in a large file, comparisons of different approaches, deep exploration of bug root causes, etc.
It often throws them away, but I ask for them back and usually learn something!

Just add a few Gs to your swapfile. 🫠

Did they mention the 130 metre high slag heap?

Haha! The "baroque façade" was just mentioned by Bridie on the Australian sbs #tdf broadcast too.

But then you have to go somewhere you didn’t want to go and they’ll come with you.

How many years were you down there?

Just wrap the CLI in a library 😉

Hehe. Don’t think we’ll ever be ‘there’, but…
I’ve been a dev for >25 years yet have still learnt *so much* in the last 18 months from Claude.
Reckon if* you can specify the architectures, patterns and libraries you want, it’ll absolutely nail it 1st or 2nd shot now.

*big if

Everything with an API and a CLI and an SDK that are modular and independent would be reeeeal nice.

LLM coding is making software creation accessible to a shit ton of people that otherwise would never make software — lots of underrepresented types of people/creators will start to make things we might not have seen otherwise thanks to a greater diversity of perspectives

that is a very good thing

The article could be balanced out by about 200 such examples… but not even 1!

Just so everyone is aware, no lender* would use an LLM model for an application scoring system.

*no lender in their right mind, at least.

Sliced eggplant & zucchini (both salted for 10 mins and rinsed), peppers and chillies, with a sprinkle of olive oil.
Grill until soft (blackened is good, but not burnt through!)
Then drown in lemon juice and olive oil while still hot, with crushed raw garlic and fresh parsley, chives, fennel tips.
