streaming setup! got a stand for my phone so i can use it as a webcam (good quality camera without buying a camera!) and got an adapter to connect everything through USB-C. also did a few things in streamelements so chat shows up on screen & alerts, but i haven’t changed sounds yet 🥴 #streamersetup

Screenshot: Dear Professor, I would like to note that, at the time of me writing this post, my classmates all received responses to their initial post where I have not. I would like to argue that this is because my post has taken a direct political stance, and I would like to take this opportunity to elaborate. My response to myself, and to you, is that health care is inherently political. With health care making up 17% of the American economy, there are many stakeholders involved in the influence of lobbying and campaigning for or against health care and what should and should not be allowed (Levitt, 2024). Politicians are able to decide where funding for important community-based services will go, and they are powerful enough to enact laws and policies that affect the services that health care providers are able to perform (for instance, blatant attacks on dismantling the implementations from the Affordable Care Act, abortion access, and gender-affirming care for transgender people). Donald Trump has taken it upon himself to continue marginalizing communities that are in dire need of health care, and with decisions like overturning Roe v. Wade and banning gender-affirming care for transgender youth, he and his loyalists are preventing the American people from accessing life-saving medical treatment. Medical professionals are at risk of losing their licenses should they dare to abide by their Hippocratic Oath to practice medicine ethically, prioritize patient care, and respect patient dignity. While I understand that taking a political stance is unseemly, I would argue that as future health care administration leaders, it is our duty to protect medical professionals, advocate for patients, and serve to ensure fair and just policies and procedures are implemented for the sanctity and the future of health care; therefore, in pursuit of this, a political stance is morally necessary.
