If he truly believes in a left-leaning party, he would be encouraging new faces, maybe younger and more energised leadership - to mentor them and see a new generation of leadership. His ego is driving him to be the leader, when he himself has already been rejected by the public.

I don’t think anyone is smiling. There may be space for a left-leaning party. But, led by Corbyn will just attract the attention purely on him. When any party becomes about one person, it’s doomed to fail. We’ve seen what happens with Corbyn and unfortunately, it won’t work with him leading
