At my daughter’s pediatrician’s office for her #flu shot. Because in this household, we believe in science and we know vaccines save lives. 💪💉

Another year older and another year protected with my updated #COVID and #Flu shots 🎉💉 Vaccines are safe, proven, and strong communities start with prevention. If you haven’t gotten yours yet, I hope you’ll make the time, it’s one of the simplest ways we can care for ourselves and each other.

We know that #VaccinesSaveLives. RFK Jr is working to block access while spreading misinformation. This photo is a reminder of what hope looked like for healthcare workers when the #COVID vaccine was first introduced. History will not forget this. We stand by #PublicHealth.

Bernie Sanders’ new report shows $533M in infectious disease research terminated. More cuts across other vital programs. This isn’t fiscal policy. It’s science sabotage and lives will be lost. lnkd.in/gi4-EyBm #PublicHealth #EpiSky #IDSky

Research saves lives. Disease drains them. If you think one costs too much, you’re about to find out what real loss looks like. Mary Lasker didn’t stutter.

In DC this weekend, and it feels so different from past visits. Normally I’m filled with joy being surrounded by so much history and knowledge. This time, its anxiety and a deep sense of loss. The pain of the present is impossible to ignore.

It’s smelled a bit cooked today with over 6,000 acres burning and 0% containment in the Table Rock area. Wildfire smoke contains PM2.5, tiny particles that pose serious health risks, especially for those with respiratory or heart conditions. Limit exposure, close windows, and consider a mask

Happy birthday to Dr. John Snow, the father of modern epidemiology!

In 1854, he traced a cholera outbreak to a water pump on Broad Street, proving disease could spread through contaminated water. His work laid the foundation for public health and disease prevention. #Epidemiology #Epiblue

This is why having data is so important because we can provide the much needed information to the public to protect yourself. Updated: Flu Season is absolutely taking names when it comes to infections right now.

We have a serious egg supply issue emerging due to #H5N1. My local store stocker said they only received TWO transport boxes of eggs this entire week. Now we’re about to see the real cost of this outbreak, and it’s going to hit hard. #BirdFlu

#Norovirus is certainly making its rounds and surging in the US right now. I know that we all want to reach for that hand sanitizer but it won't work. Make sure to wash hands thoroughly with good old soap and water, disinfect surfaces, and stay hydrated if you're feeling unwell. 🧼🦠

What a commute home today! A major threat earlier shut down the exit from work and all of i85. Thankfully, local and federal law enforcement finally cleared the threat and the area has been deemed safe. Big thanks to the heroes keeping us secure!

Winter is here. If you haven’t gotten updated on your vaccines for #flu, #RSV (if you qualify), and #COVID yet, now is the time. Numbers are growing and having that extra protection goes a long way in staying healthy!

We’re in it now, folks. Flu’s on a nationwide tour and the map is looks like it’s been hit with a red highlighter. Epi tip: it’s not too late to get your #flu vaccine.

Clean hands, masked face, we're keeping the cheer in every space.

I don’t need to rhyme to remind you that #COVID and #flu cases are rising. Stick to best practices that also include test before you go. Stay safe and spread joy, not germs!

Looking back as polio ravaged post-WWII communities in 1952, the disease paralyzed over 21,000 and claimed more than 3,000 lives in the U.S. After Dr. Jonas Salk developed a vaccine in 1955, cases decreased by 90% within 2 years, turning a national crisis into a story of triumph. #Polio #IDSky

Even this many weeks out, every drive around this area is a reminder of Hurricane Helene’s impact from damaged homes still being rebuilt to debris stacked up and lining roads. The clean-up still continues, but so does the resilience of my community.

My mother is getting some testing done today. I'm in the waiting room, masked up to reduce the risk of Covid and other respiratory viruses. We do what we can 👍🏻
