Hospital here charged my panic attack on the same cost level as a gunshot wound, bc I came in with chest pains. After fighting about how is it "a lvl 3 emergency" if a doc didnt see me for 8 hours they gave me a "discount" on the absurd charge. Their financial department can always lower the cost

What @mizzbassie.bsky.social said. They will try to bill his insurance first, if he has it. He should receive a bill after they process the claim. After that if there are costs not covered by insurance, ask for them to send itemized bill, and dont be afraid to challenge them on charges

I hope he gets better quick! After the visit, always ask for itemized bill - they often add bullshit charges in the "bulk" billing that they will drop when you ask them to show the itemized list.
