I think Westbahn is taking the piss now @seatsixtyone.bsky.social 😂

€65 upgrade fee, when you already have a first class rail pass, to sit in first class.

I think that might be a record.

A little heads-up for you and your colleagues, in case you come across any Interrail passengers.

For reasons unknown, the app is telling them that they can still make the XX:25 ICE to Cologne.

I've just asked how much the nail clippers were in this shop, and got a look that mixed pity with disdain.

How's your day going?

Looks like this has slipped from 'in mid summer' to 'by the end of the year'.

It's not quite Antwerp or São Bento, but Haarlem is oddly impressive

Lost another 20 minutes, but still made my sleeper with time to spare for a currywurst. And didn’t miss out on this rather pleasant breakfast somewhere in southern Sweden

You can leave as much time as you like for delays, but sometimes even the most generous connection time gets eaten by disruption.

I had nearly 5 hours between arriving in Hamburg and talking my sleeper to Stockholm, now down to 90 minutes, and my train is still stationary 😮. Friday 13th strikes…

@seatsixtyone.bsky.social There doesn't seem to have been any official announcement, but it looks like the Frecciarossa to Paris is going to be accepting Interrail from this summer.

Spotted by a friend of mine.

Who needs a TGV for €10 or €20 reservation fee, when (some) Intercités are completely reservation-free on Interrail? @seatsixtyone.bsky.social

1+1 staggered seating in first class Bordeaux-Nantes. Optional reservation €1.70.

In terms of zen-like nothingness, it's hard to beat this one.

You're joking. Not another one?

I spent two hours here with a hammer and chisel, but I still couldn't remove it.

They shouldn't advertise this as free and then make it so difficult to take.

Up here in Tyne Tees land, ITV was briefly, horrifyingly, known as Channel 3 North East.

You might spot our new trains in your day job, as they make their way here (ever so slowly!) from Switzerland.

This pushes the flexible fare (there is no Off-Peak) for Newcastle to London beyond £200. One-way.

And, wouldn't you know it, Advance fares on Monday are not far shy of that.
