Left politics, football (Spurs, Union Berlin, Scotland), rugby (Scotland), cycling, history, occasional rant.

📍Berlin
I still have the Scotland flag I hung at my window as a 13-year-old in Germany when we were in the ‘98 World Cup. I’m now 40 and my daughter will be six months old when we next kick off a World Cup match. #SCOvDEN

Fascism always has the shittest art. Also amazing how similar to some of the rubbish being churned out in Nazi Germany this picture is.

David Lammy’s heard about some strikes. No idea who’s been striking though. Must just be mysterious strikes from the sky. Happens sometimes.

People are getting called antisemites for decrying a genocide - how the hell does Michael Gove get away with talking about “the international elites”?!

Excellent evening at Lichtenberg 47 last night. Top of the table clash in the German 5th Division.

Who needs the Champion’s League when you’ve got the Oberliga? Now that I live round the corner, might go to Lichtenberg 47 more often.

I see Labour’s taking its inspiration from the AfD again.

The Administration is now trying to claim The Atlantic hacked them “through some technical means”…

It’s all very “no idea why my pay per view adult movie bill is £900”

We’ve moved and our new fast food place is, unusually for Berlin, Greek rather than Turkish. Whoever had the idea of sticking chips in a kebab deserves a Nobel prize.

Almost a third of all first-time voters voted Left in the German election.

How badly can statistics misrepresent a game of rugby? #SCOvIRE #Sixnations

I mean, schämt er sich nicht, der Lindner?!

Dieses Saison drei mal ins Stadion geschafft. Keine Niederlage dabei. Nehme Angebote auf Freikarten an. Bin ja schließlich ein Glücksbringer, oder so… 😉

No petrol stations were harmed in the making of this post.

I never do these, but I just watched SAS: Rogue Heroes, so I’m either fine, or getting rescued is just the start of my troubles.

Starmer’s plan for growth doesn’t include actually investing in anything, but does include a sternly-worded letter to OFWAT.

My Spotify Wrapped is always boring. I have a sleep playlist I play most evenings, and even though it’s set it to exclude it from my taste profile, it clearly still flows into the wrapped numbers. I’m not in fact the world’s biggest fan of chill 19th century piano music.

Just followed a bunch of Unioner, so here’s thoughts on Union Berlin’s season so far.

1. Thank god it’s not last season any more
2. Feels like we’re back to the kind of tight, counter-attacking football that got us into the CL
3. Still need more goals
4. Rönnow’s instrumental

Friedrich Merz seems to be a drag on the CDU ticket. He’s the only candidate for chancellor who a significant proportion of their party’s voters don’t prefer them for chancellor.
