I've used Serious Eats' method to avoid soggy filling - which is, surprisingly, to partially heat the apples before serving. It breaks down the pectin in the apples, leading to a naturally thicker and less soggy pie.

What "essential personnel" are working on that during the shutdown?

Paul's last name in his social handle is misspelled when he's first introduced. It's @pftompkins, not @pftomkins.

I don't like the seemingly more common habit of booing for a poor performance.

Boo the opponents, and boo players/management if they're not trying their hardest (or if they flip the bird to the fans!)

But Morton wanted so badly to do well here, and it's unfortunate that it ended the way it did.

But would you be better off with a pro-life Dem? Because I don't see that being the one thing that makes an R voter vote D. And you piss off the core of your party, who's essential to a win.

They shouldn't be pitching far-left ideas in KS, but they should be where the people are - pro-choice.

Idk if it's the right call or not, but 0-for-9 vs. a particular pitcher is an incredibly low sample size, to the point where it's not particularly helpful vs. other metrics.

Substance aside, you've spent your entire Sunday arguing with people on the internet.

You're not convincing anyone to change their mind.

Surely it would be better to log off for a while?

This is incredibly useful, but limitations in modeling for 50 individual states seem to create some outliers.

I question NM at 0.4%, while AZ is at 1.0%, with similar demographics.

Illinois at 0.7% also seems a tad low; I would expect Chicago to push the state's number above the national average.

Probably for the best. He missed the first month of the season due to injury, and was in low-A and A until early July.

Let him rake in Erie (and Toledo soon, I'd bet), but don't hurry him to Detroit. Many players have seen the bigs too early and struggled to adjust too quickly. Let the kid develop.

I'll take Newsom as an attack dog, but I recognize that he's a craven politico who would go on Charlie Kirk's show and agree with him on trans issues in order to get himself one inch closer to the presidency.

When he's done being useful attacking Trump, he can fuck right off.

I'm glad you're making the choice that is best for you, but again, it's not 2020-21 anymore. Others can make the choice that is best for them.

It is absurd to think that everyone else in that audience should be required to mask up so that you feel comfortable watching them on television.

Your concern is valid for you, but COVID is endemic and vaccines are available to all.

It is absurd to think today that masks should be required for any public setting except a healthcare facility.

I gladly masked up (and for longer than was required!), but I'm vaccinated and living my life now.

It's disappointing that the Vikings are finding a reason to make me like them.

It also does Adelita Grijalva a disservice, because it makes it seem like she's a milquetoast moderate.

She was endorsed by Bernie Sanders and AOC, and is likely to be as vocal an activist as her father was. Age is important, but so are values, and she seems like she's got the right ones.

When your audience spans so many time zones, you don't have a good option for everyone.

As-is, viewers on the West Coast of the US will still be at work (assuming a 9-5 schedule). If they went any earlier, most of the US would be at work.
