In the USSR, they used to have informants anywhere you had large collections of people, to make sure the party knew of any dissidents. Sad that we're heading to the party of big government once again...

Perhaps because others can still see the whole thread the comment comes from, and something in your comment resonated enough for them to share that thread?

I'm sure I've done this before (and hopefully your post isn't actually a random reply to a post I don't see. That would be embarrassing...)
