A London bound Air India plane has crashed in Ahmedabad killing all 242 people on board.
They included: 169 Indian nationals, 53 British, one Canadian and Seven Portuguese.

#Ghana’s former president John Mahama has won the presidential election. Ruling party candidate Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has conceded victory. Mahama previously served and lost elections after one term before returning to try again like Donald Trump.

It’s official! #Namibia has elected its first female president. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah is from the governing Swapo party. The electoral commission said she won more than 57% of the votes cast. Her closest rival Panduleni Itula got 26%.

Veteran Ugandan opposition leader Kizza Besigye was abducted in neighbouring Kenya over the weekend.He’s now appeared before a military court martial in the Ugandan capital Kampala.Dr. Besigye retired from the army nearly three decades ago, so it’s interesting he’s been charged in a military court.

Veteran Ugandan opposition figure Dr. Kizza Besigye has been kidnapped in Nairobi. His wife Winnie Byanyima said he is now in an Ugandan military jail. She said he was kidnapped last Saturday while he was in Nairobi for the book launch of Kenyan opposition politician Martha Karua.
