In other words science is one way of making sense of the world. A successful (?) way. And one many of us use. But I would not say the only way. As scientists our commitment is to understanding the world and not to the methods......IMHO.

Not so sure, I guess it all depends on how you define science. In terms of thinking new ideas I think there are many ways .... indigenous knowledge systems would be just one example?
