and if you have an MT32, Dune II has *excellent* support for it, including some sound effects!
Westwood tended to support Roland MIDI hardware pretty well.

The UT99 total conversion mod Nerf Arena Blast was the second FPS I was allowed to play growing up (Descent was the first), and its subtle tweaks to the UT formula, smartly themed and well designed levels, and inclusion of "NerfEd" earned it a dedicated following!

rendering individual frames of the craft resource meters changing length, after which I'll need to edit the frames to create one set of cropped frames for each gauge, a total of 64 images to retouch by hand post-conversion.

bone cockpit with integrated status display and resource meters, palette-optimized to 32 colors, since I only have 256 total to work with.
happy with how it looks so far! still needs a little fleshing out, though.
