If all you can do is review a paper by putting it into ChatGPT (or similar), maybe you shouldn't accept to review in the first place.

If you openly acknowledge that you don't understand much about epidemiology or statistics, you should probably not agree to review such articles, and especially not make strong recommendations to accept or reject them in your evaluation.

Now this is an excellent initiative. If you haven't heard of this, researchers write papers targeted at kids or teenagers. But the kicker is that your target audience co-peer reviews the paper! Usually, this is done collectively as a science class

Frontiers for Young Minds is an open-access scientific journal written by scientists and reviewed by a board of kids and teens.

Big news from Finnish publication forum. Almost all MDPI and Frontiers journals will be downgraded to level 0 and thus are not considered as properly peer reviewed trustworthy scientific journals.

Researchers struggled to get approval from an ethics committee. They planned to have healthy people visit dentists for examinations (but refuse X-rays and treatments).

But isn't that something the whole profession is calling for, as if there isn't a single patient who wouldn't benefit from it?

Reviewing a manuscript that includes several senior authors, who seem not to have reviewed the manuscript thoroughly themselves, is very unfortunate. For the reviewers/editors, but particularly for the junior members of the author team.
