It’s hard to recognize nonviolent resistance when your mind constantly imagines violence. Nonviolence seems silly or pointless to people who think physical might makes right. But drop by drop, water shapes the earth.

A (moderately) conservative friend recently told me about the time he went and stood in line and got food stamps for his family. we disagree on a lot but we both agree that hungry people matter.

Ooooh that’s an angle. My take was that someone in the American contingent at the recent visit whispered in Charles’ ear that Andrew is prominent in the Epstein files and he decided to do something preemptively.

I’m not laughing. Someone stole from him and then physically tripped him. I get it, he’s a jerk and deserves all the ridicule for that. I‘m in the minority here, but I’ve gotta say it: theft and assault are not the Way.

Evangelical people of my acquaintance regard Mormonism (including LDS) as a satanic cult. Even though they often align politically, the LDS and evangelical church are not friends. I am waiting to see what plays out, but I am not really surprised by much these days.

My cousins from a “third world” country visited us in the late 1960s and describes scenes such as these. Their dentist disappeared and no one dared say anything. These stories were told in the quiet of the living room when the adults thought we kids couldn’t hear. But I heard. And here we are.

Just vacationed in Victoria where tour guides and museums acknowledge historic wrongs, celebrate those who have tried to right those wrongs and continue to move us all forward together. As a white person I did not feel belittled; I felt encouraged that knowing better and doing better is possible.

Pedophiles tend not to do well in prison— going to minimum security surrounded by women who have been abused the way she has abused others….. I don’t tend to see conspiracies in every corner, but I can definitely see some people hoping human nature takes its revenge.
