Still trying to figure out what the market and vibe is on here. Do I post mostly parenting tips and anecdotes or is there more of an audience for classical liberal political observations? The topic is freedom either way I suppose.

My child requested milk in the bowl before cereal this morning. I am reminding myself that it's okay if my children explore choices I don't agree with.

I am so thankful my children share my chronotype. I know so many people who have kids who are up at 5:30 or 6 and I would not be as cheerful if I had to do that. My kids may talk and read for an hour before they finally go to sleep, but then they sleep til at least 7!

Screen use is so woven into our society and daily life that it is hard to avoid exposing young children to screens. As with most things, context matters. Engaged co-watching with a parent can even be beneficial.

For families that don't do Santa, have a plan for when your child has a friend who does believe in Santa. Your child may need some guidance on how to manage the social norms of respecting someone else's belief without necessarily endorsing it yourself.
Each family has to make its own decision regarding Santa mythology, but you should also be prepared for when your child encounters someone whose family made a different choice! #Christmas #Santa #RaisingFreeKids

For families that do Santa: Be prepared for when someone tells your child Santa isn't real. This is an important moment in the parent child relationship because your child is trusting that you will tell them what's true in the world.
