Until we're at a point where nobody can find a job we don't need UBI for more than those who aren't gainfully employed and it shouldn't be subsidizing shit wages at bad jobs either.

The privileged should pay to help others and maintain standards for everyone. You never know when you might need it.

If you file taxes they have all that information. It doesn't take anything to say:

"Hey, you got a job that pays over a hundred thousand pounds. Maybe you shouldn't be taking another thirty thousand a year right now. But it's always there if you lose your job or need it."

What we need isn't UBI for everyone. What we need is a universal basic *minimum* that covers basic human needs and provides opportunities for people.

If you're unable to work, everyone needs a standard for living and dignity but if you're able to live very comfortably and make well above a poverty line there's just no need for UBI.

If we're displaced or can't find a proper paying job with upward mobility that's what UBI is good for. Basic needs or to go to school for a new career.
