I'm still a bit salty (mostly sad actually) that someone fairly well known On Here blocked me over something adjacent to this. Because I asked for some understanding that artists are VERY REASONABLY twitchy about anything that seems to echo that threatening language.

I hate it. We gave in and bought the premium package because my kids can't reliably do workarounds on all of their devices and I felt strongly that I needed to protect them from constant ad drip. But I hate that we're basically rewarding YT for hosing down actual creators' work in a deluge of shit.

I can just imagine how he ducks down out of sight or scurries into one of the other pouches to rummage and bring goods out. Really great design, love the creativity

It is now subscribed in my AntennaPod

Oooh, I didn't know she had a new one

Why would I basically commit to giving them even more money by accepting a useless-by-itself pittance of store credit after they kept $100 of my dollars for nothing?

It's insulting. They should have just said they wouldn't take the glasses back anymore. Then at least I'd have a shitty backup pair.

It's amazing. Perfect little guy.

One of his teeth still tingles weird.

Spouse got it on his FACE 😖
December 9, 2025 at 4:59 AM
I wish it were available younger. Spouse has already had shingles once and we've both got years to go yet. Better part of a decade for me. His brother who is 7 years his junior also had shingles even earlier!

The restriction is ridiculous.

Oh hey i know that lil guy

I love how that heart pendant ended up with a wing-like swoop at the top

Heck yeah, Jabberwocky reciters unite
December 6, 2025 at 11:41 PM
Yup. Let alone the actual logistical challenges that exist in that extremely limited-energy space. Everything is a puzzle and the penalty for not solving it perfectly is pain and even fewer resources for the next one.
December 6, 2025 at 11:33 PM
Not at all. Ignorant "help" can be far more damaging than it is actually helpful and you've literally got an energy-limiting condition. Of course you want to make sure the other person is as fully on the same page with you as possible. Of course you need -them- to put in the effort to get there.

And we can disagree on other specific approaches while still addressing this perverse incentive.
December 4, 2025 at 1:51 PM
Oh there are a lot of issues with capitalism that this framing does not directly address, for sure. There's a lot more that needs fixing.

But I do think that removing the ability to hoard power this way removes a lot of the incentive to maintain or re-inflict that brokenness.
December 4, 2025 at 1:48 PM
And power over others should be taxed at near 100% while we leave survival and even comfort the hell alone.

Yes, this is an argument for extremely progressive taxation.
December 4, 2025 at 1:38 PM
What the extremely wealthy are hoarding is not property, it is power over others.

At the state of wealth inequality that creates trillionaires, they are so deeply and purely in the "power" category that splitting hairs about other property-related money uses is silly.
December 4, 2025 at 1:38 PM
With overlap, it (very) roughly goes maintenance of base survival > comfort > luxury > power over others.
December 4, 2025 at 1:38 PM
I think in this age of extreme wealth inequality we really need to come to the understanding that money is--in a way as real as any social construct--not actually the same thing at different levels of acquisition, and is not strictly "property" the same way land, equipment, or belongings are.
December 4, 2025 at 1:38 PM
That is stunning!
