That's true, whatever one does with the rat look, it's hard to get rid of all traces of friendlyness. It's much easier to make them look grotesque and disturbingly comical (or comically disturbing) than outright dangerous. But it is part of the appeal I feel.

Oh, also there is a fullbody version if you care about such things. For very legitimate reason, I'm sure.

I couldn't make it quite work after I went too trigger-happy with the markers on the initial sketch, but it's alright. I just think the cropped version looks better.

Got myself a set of sepia pencils and was excited to try them. Luckily a perfect test subject appeared just in time...

Turns out sepia works somewhat differently than I anticipated. It threw my plans off quite a bit 😠

Gotta keep that in mind for the mext time.

In Game vs Art

The Dragon Age series has some strange artstyle choices, and Isabela's design from DA2 has always struck me as... especially outlandish. I tried to put my own spin on her outfit. Now she's even more pirate-y, nooo what have I done D:
