I am deeply saddened to learn of Chelsea Quinn Yarbro's passing. She was always very kind to me, a fellow Bay Area gal. I loved her mischievous wit, charm, unabashed voice, and ability to firmly hold legendary status in a difficult, male-dominated business.

On today's walk by the sea... a vein of pyrite in a dried up natural sulfur spring, in an outcropping of sandstone, lime, and iron deposits. The yellow is sulfur. The dull sparkle is pyrite.

My baby grapes... first year of fruiting. These grew rather wildly this year, entwined around an Oak Tree, much like ancient grapes grew. I think they dislike my old trellis. Wild things, these grapes.
