One good reason for posting on Mastodon instead of Facebook: the platform does not automatically censor what you are trying to post. Facebook, for example, refuses to let me post a link to Cory Doctorow's talk.

I moved to a new server without copying the database (seemed too difficult with a large jump in versions). So all my older posts are currently not on my server. If I find an import tool for old posts, I might restore them from my exported archive.
