Happy to be here
It sure how easy it is to track, but my recollection is that we have generally had xG underperformance in December the last couple of years. Wonder if it is related to fatigue

The most amazing part was Tim McCarver predicting it right before it happened

unpopular opinion: I think he is actually pretty good and reasonable when on CBS as opposed to Sky

his whole body was offside - they were able to clear it with a glance

And the fact that Liverpool have been pretty fortunate to pick up the points they have has made people a bit crazy. It feels like there isn’t margin for error.

Yeah agreed on NFL. Hockey is most similar to soccer and going to two officials made a big difference in quality. I think MLB is hard to compare because each event is so distinct.

I guess one way to think on it is, what sport has the best refs or at least the fewest controversial calls and ref talking points? It’s hard because soccer has such high leverage calls that decide games. But hockey or basketball probably have the best refs

i think the fact that yesterday seemed to be more sloppiness than lack of understanding of where to be gives me hope it will click quickly

Do the various state licensing boards adopt the AIA code of ethics? I’m a PE, and NCEES doesn’t have an analogous section and each of the state boards have their own slightly different standards. That’s really cool that AIA includes that.

its not often that a game i have no rooting interest in causes me to exclaim out loud. but that was incredible

As a UMD fan and alum I’m obviously a bit biased, so take it with a grain of salt, but this is two jobs in a row he has left in fairly messy fashion. That doesn’t seem to jive with the Nova culture.

This is the type of day that will have me creating new chores to do around the house so I have the opportunity to listen to all the podcasts

If you keep your head down in the neutral zone too long, Scott Stevens is going to be there with a body check. Couldn’t see big Ange skating away from one of those

Texas finally expanded enough to create a Belgian franchise of Whatabutger?
January 11, 2025 at 6:20 PM
Is this more due to Liverpool (and Forest) overperforming their own offensive number, i.e. finishing better or due to teams finishing worse against them?

It felt frenetic before the fourth goal but after that we really looked strong.

That makes sense. I agree that it was a reasonable process. I think I tend to be more forgiving of signings/players not panning out than I do of giving second contracts when there are red flags.

Do you think the mistake was signing Vieira or not giving him sufficient PT to develop him last year. My understanding is they moved him this year to make room for Nwaneri

And to be honest, there aren’t a lot of great options at LW that would have been available. It feels more unfortunate than a mistake

The pitch looks quite slow today too
